What exactly comes in a Shelve It kit?
Every kit ships flat-packed with all cut panels, uprights, shelves and the fixings needed to build it. You just need a drill — no cutting, no extra hardware.
What's the difference between a shelf kit and a pigeon hole kit?
Shelf kits give you open full-width shelves for boxes, tools and crates. Pigeon hole kits add vertical dividers so each tier is split into compartments — better for smaller parts, stock picking and paperwork.
Which materials can I choose?
Rough Ply is the budget workhorse, OSB is a tough mid-range board, Hex Board has a hard-wearing coated face that wipes clean, and Face Ply is the premium sanded finish for visible spaces.
What sizes and thicknesses are available?
Kits come as 3, 4 or 5 stacks in 600mm, 900mm and 1200mm widths. Rough Ply, Hex Board and Face Ply are available in 12mm or 18mm, while OSB is 15mm only.
Which thickness should I pick?
12mm is fine for light and medium storage — boxes, files and household kits. Choose 18mm for heavy loads such as paint tins, machinery parts or long, unsupported 1200mm spans.
How long does assembly take?
A 3-stack kit typically takes 20–30 minutes to construct on your own. A 5-stack pigeon hole kit takes closer to an hour. Everything is pre-drilled and labelled, and instructions are in the box.
Can I stack or join kits together?
Yes. Kits of the same width line up and can be bolted side by side to make a run, and shorter stacks can be fixed to a wall for extra stability in taller installations.
How much do the shelves hold?
As a guide, 12mm shelves take around 30kg evenly spread per 600mm tier and 18mm takes around 60kg. Reduce the figure on 1200mm widths, or add a centre divider for heavy use.
